Redhill, Surrey
'The design and construction included the installation of a 9000 litre pond complete with filter system, lighting, pump and cascade'

Orginally an overgrown woody border and lawn this project briefed the creation of a large fishpond to relocate the clients existing fish stock. The design and construction included the installation of a 9000 litre pond complete with a UV filtering system, lighting, pump and cascade.

The margins of the pond used natural materials and planting to soften the feature into the garden setting as well as creating a naturalistic asthetic. Mature marginal plants including Water Mint and Yellow Flag Iris were used to provide structure as well as increasing oxygen levels and surface coverage.

Above illustrates the construction and completion of phase 1 of the project in 2008. The second phase will include the installation of a naturl late patio overhanging the margins of the exposed edges to create an apperance of the patio hanging over the water.
